White Birds
This necklace is part of a departure for me from previous work. White African bone beads are separated by turquoise roundels, hicorite riddled with character, agate and carved Chinese wood bottles. Hicorite is the 'trade' name for this mulit-colored type of jasper which is found in Australia. Hicorite is said to work on the animal soul to heighten and intensify primal awareness. It is also called Moukaite. There is a turquoise fetish of a tiny wolf near the top. I have worn this once myself and will be sorry to part with this one of a kind piece.
